about

The second album from Pork Chop, and the first fully realized and all original collection, was the concept album know as The Hobo Album. Most of these songs were written very early in Pork Chop's career as a musician, and very few of the original recordings of these songs remain. This collection, known as The Hobo Album Revisited, was recorded on a Sony IC recorder sometime in 2008 in an effort to get definitive versions down on tape, with a few new songs that fit the concept added into the mix. This was never intended to be released as an album, with these songs being more demo recordings than polished products. Some of these tunes suffer from poor construction and/or execution, with the usual symptoms of raw vocals and missing notes. All in all, it's the first good example of Pork Chop's potential as a songwriter and his tendency to become all-consumed in a concept. The album follows the story of a wayfarer from his childhood through his years as a traveling musician and into his final days living as a hobo. The Hobo song was the first tune Pork Chop ever constructed a music video for, and the album as a whole was written by Pork Chop into a script for a musical as well.
